ROY ROGERS JR.
1999 Gold Angel Winner
The career of ROY ROGERS, JR., known as DUSTY , has been almost as colorful as that of his parents, DALE EVANS and ROY ROGERS. He started as a youngster on
his father's NBC series. By 18 he had appeared in TO FORGIVE A THIEF and ARIZONA BUSHWATCHERS. Movies and television shows and series followed. He had his
own variety show, and recorded singles and albums for Nashville. He crossed the nation frequently, appearing at state fairs, conventions and dinner houses.
His back-up group, THE HIGH RIDERS, proved a sensation. Their CD was a best-seller. He found time to serve as personal manager for his parents.
He is president and executive director of the THE ROY ROGERS-DALE EVANS MUSEUM at Victorville, California. Excellence In Media confered on Roy "Dusty"
Rogers a Gold Angel as a tribute to an outstanding actor in many fields who, as one critic wrote, has "tenderness, vitality, appeal, class and vocal
power -- and magic."
