Twenty four years ago when Mary Dorr produced the first Angel awards, there were many who said the idea would never work. Who would come to such an event? Who would care? But two who were most enthusiastic -- and have been supportive through the years -- were ones who had ridden the trail many times, knew it could be rocky but would lead heaven ward. They were DALE EVANS and ROY ROGERS.

For decades they have stood -- and lived -- for everything that is good in our way of life. Back in the '40s, both rode out of the West to capture the hearts of millions, Roy and his golden palomino, Trigger, Dale as his leading lady and a singer of note. They have reared a family of nine children, three adopted, and by now have so many grandchildren and great grandchildren that they buy Christmas cards wholesale.
