A Man for all Roles

For nine years CRAIG T. NELSON lost more games as a coach then anyone in football history. Moviegoers the world over loved him at the same time they were roaring with laughter. He won an Emmy for COACH and three Emmy nominations. He has starred in numerous movies and television series, including the recent TO SERVE AND PROTECT for NBC. He has been on Broadway in Eugene O'Neills's AH WILDERNESS.

He has written scripts for TV shows (and picked up an Emmy for one), and served as executive producer. Along the way he played drums and guitar, and raced cars on some of the world's fastest tracks, including Monte Carlo and the Celebrity Grand Prix. Oh, yes, he is a golfer feared by his adversaries.

Excellence in Media honored Craig T. Nelson -- not for his football coaching, car racing or playing the drums (there are other awards for those) -- but for his talents as a writer, producer and truly fine actor, who has brought laughter to millions who at the same time have been touched by the realism of his serious moments.
