Gold Angel Winner
Art Linkletter was the star of two of the longest running shows in all broadcasting history. He has written to date more then 16 books, one that was among
the top 15 bestsellers in American publishing history. He is one of the most successful businessman anywhere, heading up several corporations and serving
on other boards. Yet all doing a fabulous carrier, he has found time for numerous causes, and scores of the humanitarian endeavors. He is best-known,
perhaps, for his crusade against the use of drugs.
EIM honored him with a Gold Angel in recognition of his sensitivity and response to the needs of his
fellow man as well as the high moral tone of everything he has done in the entertainment world. His two record -- making shows were: HOUSE PARTY, on radio
and television for 25 years five days a week, 52 weeks a year, winner of an Emmy award and four Emmy nominations; and PEOPLE ARE FUNNY, on radio and
television for 19 years with ratings in the top 10, winner of three Emmy nominations.
During his 45 years as a radio and television star, perhaps no one
in Hollywood was brought as much laughter to millions around the world as Art Linkletter -- and few have been as concerned for their fellow man.
